Humana Inc. reports. A fourth-quarter share profit of $1.48 (U.S.) is expected, up from $1.07 the previous year.

Statistics Canada releases its labour force survey for January. Economists expect the unemployment rate to remain at 8.5 per cent, and a net gain of about 15,000 jobs.

The U.S. Department of Labour releases employment data for January. Economists expect non-farm payrolls to increase by 13,000; the jobless rate is expected to remain unchanged at 10 per cent.

A two-day meeting of G7 finance ministers and central bank governors begins in Iqaluit.
