Billionaire portfolio manager sued for allegedly funding a terrorist group


 
 A billionaire hedge fund manager charged in a $25 million insider trading case now faces a lawsuit saying he helped finance Sri Lankan militants notorious for suicide bombings. The federal lawsuit was filed Thursday in Newark, N.J., against Raj Rajaratnam (RAHJ’ rah-juh-RUHT’-nuhm), a portfolio manager for Galleon Group.

J.P. Morgan goes live with online target date tool for advisers


 
 J.P. Morgan Funds is rolling out an online version of its target date evaluation program for advisers. The firm also is discussing developing a similar tool to help advisers analyze target risk funds.

Janus, weighed down by costs of departures, sees profts drop


 
 Janus Capital Group Inc. said Thursday its third-quarter profit shrank by more than two-thirds, weighed down by legal settlements and severance costs from the departure of the mutual fund company’s former CEO and other employees. The news sent Janus shares diving about 10 percent in morning trading.
